Ivory Tower

This show by artist Jain Mckay challenged and questioned the role of women in fairytales. For her 'Rapunzel Residency' Jain was imprisoned in her 'Ivory Tower', producing literally hundreds of artworks, each one a revelation, an insight into the soul of a truly heroic modern day princess.
Visitors to the show were invited to take part in her quest to turn 'paper into gold'. For the price of a single shiny pound coin members of the public were able to walk away with a unique artwork, an original drawing, sketch or monoprint made by a real life princess in captivity.
